SPECIAL SYSTEM: Original Alias/Maya 1.5 system (permanent licenses). Add 100
to either system 1 or 2 above. Email for full installed software details.

Add 35 to include a Phobos G130 10/100 FastEthernet card (original box, still sealed, never used! More images: 1 | 2)
Add 25 to include a Phobos G100 10/100 FastEthernet card (driver CD included)
Add 45 to upgrade R4000SC/100 or any R4K PC-type CPU to R5000SC/150 or R4400SC/200.
Add 45 to upgrade 8bit to 24bit XL graphics (for 2D, video, system expansion).
Add 45 to upgrade 8bit to XZ graphics (for 3D tasks).
Add 40 to include an extra 128MB RAM (4 x 32MB SIMMs).
Add 20 to include an extra 64MB RAM (4 x 16MB SIMMs).
Add 10 to include an extra 32MB RAM (4 x 8MB SIMMs).
Add 10 to upgrade a NIDEC PSU to a Sony PSU.
Add 10 to include an IndyCam digital camera.
Add 25 to upgrade a half or 1GB disk to a 9GB disk (7200rpm 68pin disk with adapter).
Add 15 to include a keyboard and mouse

NB: I can upgrade a system disk to 36GB for +70, but this would
consist of a 1" SCA disk with a 50/80pin adapter, which means the
upper disk bay could not be used, whereas a 68pin disk + adapter
still leaves the upper bay free. Other than that though, using an
SCA disk in this way works fine.

Further upgrades and extras are listed on the Parts/Spares page.
The above specs are not fixed; email me for alternative configurations and prices.

Please see the shipping costs page for full details of postage charges to the UK, mainland Europe and beyond. The shipping cost to a UK destination by ParcelForce48 is 12.50 UKP (less for just a base unit), and between 15 and 30 UKP for most mainland European destinations for a single Indy with peripherals.

Of the Indys I have available, some include a valid right-to-use 6.5 and a full permanent set of original SGI licenses covering the following software items:

IRIS Annotator, Auto Parallelisation Option (APO), C Compiler,
  C++ Compiler, Fortran77 Compiler, Fortran90 Compiler, Cinepak
Encoder, Cosmo Code, Cosmo Worlds, Cosmo Create, Cosmo Color,
Cosmo Create 3D, Impressario Printing System, InPerson Desktop
Conferencing, MPEG Encoder 1.0, MPEG Encoder 1.1, ProDev Workshop,
ProDev Workshop Pro Ada, Rapid App, WorkShop Pro MPF, WebSpace
Author, WebMagic Author and WebMagic Pro.

Any such Indy is listed first in the table above and is marked 'LICENSES!'. The licenses will also work with IRIX 6.2.

Unless otherwise stated, all Indys include an SGI granite keyboard, SGI granite mouse, new/unused blue mouse mat, spare disk sled and power cable. The licensed systems include an IndyCam digital camera, SCSI terminator, Indy microphone cable, plus my SGI Gifts CDs and Freeware CDs. Other Indys listed may also have extras. For full details on each Indy, please see the detailed notes below.

Monitors and monitor cables are also available - please see the monitor page for details.

Detailed Notes

Here are detailed notes for each system by Reference Number (Ref No. in the table). Remember that, in each case, the specification can be changed if required.

1. Includes normal-type SGI granite keyboard and mouse, IndyCam digital camera (case colour has faded, but works fine), microphone cable and clip, SCSI terminator, new/unused blue mouse mat and power cable. This system has the maximum possible RAM, a good sized disk and 24bit graphics.

Chassis in great condition, all lid catches intact, almost no scratches on the top lid. I have put on a full IRIX 6.5.22m installation with lots of extras - this is the last release of IRIX to support Indy, so the system is completely up to date. August 2003 Freeware and my SGI GIfts CDs included, but not any base OS media; I can include a full 6.5 set for extra (email for details). This unit is licensed to use 6.5 and has a complete set of permanent licenses for compilers, CASE tools, Impressario, Annotator, etc. A copy of the license codes is included in printed form and also on CDR, and of course the licenses are already installed in /var/flexlm/license.dat.

2. Same description as system 1.

3. System in good condition, just a few scratches. The disk has a good 6.2 installation with lots of extras. Includes IndyCam, keyboard, mouse, mouse mat, Gifts/Freeware CDs and power cable; I can include base OS media for extra if required (email for details).

4. Same description as system 3, except the top lid has a bit more scratching.

5. Same description as system 3, except the top lid has a bit more scratching.

6. Same description as system 3, except the top lid has a bit more scratching.

7. The system has some scratches and a degree of colour fading on the top lid. Power cable included, but no keyboard or mouse (add 15 to include a normal-type SGI granite keyboard and mouse).

8. Same description as system 7.

Indy CPU Performance Comparison Table

With respect to performance issues, here is a comparison table for reference (or see my benchmarks page for real-world examples):

                             SPECint92 SPECfp92 AIM

  R5000SC 180MHz (512K L2): 192.0 211.0 242.0 (*)
   R4400SC 200MHz (1MB L2): 140.2 131.0 -
   R4400SC 175MHz (1MB L2): 122.6 115.5 118.4
   R4400SC 150MHz (1MB L2): 91.7 97.5 113.3
  R4600SC 133MHz (512K L2): 113.5 73.7 107.2
            R4600PC 133MHz: 84.9 61.0 75.4
            R4600PC 100MHz: 62.8 49.9 63.7
   R4000SC 100MHz (1MB L2): 59.0 61.0 -

(*) Data is from the use of the CPU in O2, so treat as an estimate only.

R5000SC/150 is usually somewhere between R4K/200 and R5K/180, though
sometimes R4K/200 can be a little faster.
